President Erdoğan Has a Busy Agenda during his US Visit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 22.

Stating that a global disaster can only be overcome with global solidarity and cooperation, President Erdoğan was cited as saying, “It is not possible for any country to survive safely on its own, before all countries are free from this pandemic. We hope that the will which shall be displayed in the General Assembly will make up a turning point in understanding this truth."

“While providing, on one hand, the best health service to our citizens, we also sent medical aid to 159 countries and 12 international organizations, on the other. On this occasion, I would like to stress that we will offer, in the near future, our national vaccine TURKOVAC to the benefit of all humanity, together with our nation," President Erdoğan added.

President Erdoğan held several meetings with the world leaders during his New York visit including; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Finnish President Sauli Niinist, Guinea-Bissau's President Umaro Sissoco Embalo, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, Slovenian President Borut Pahor, Polish President Andrzej Duda, President Evariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, President Barham Salih of Iraq, the Head of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohammad Younes Menfi, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Meanwhile, President Erdoğan delivered remarks at a meeting with TURKEN Foundation representatives at the Turkish American National Steering Committee's (TASC) “A Fairer World is Possible" Conference in New York. 

​President Erdoğan Attends 11th Türkiye Investment Conference in US

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 11th Türkiye Investment Conference, held by the Türkiye-U.S. Business Council on September 20.

Emphasizing that Türkiye and the US are two strong strategic partners and 70-year-long allies, President Erdoğan stressed that “This cooperation of ours, based on unique and solid foundations, has contributed to peace, stability and security in many parts of the world for years. We have significant opportunities of cooperation not only in terms of economy and trade but in a wide range of areas extending from security and war on terror to defense industry and investments."

The President highlighted that bilateral trade volume between the US and Türkiye increased to USD 21 billion in the previous year despite the pandemic conditions, but both nation leaders are committed to increasing the number to USD 100 billion. 

President Erdoğan Inaugrates Turkevi Center in New York

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the inauguration of the new Turkevi Center in New York.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Erdoğan said the building will serve as a lasting monument of Türkiye's diplomatic success for decades to come.

"Because for our nation and for our state, we have now given a permanent work of art. We are proud because we are adding to the silhouette of New York, with a sterling example of our historical and traditional architecture," the President said.

36-story skyscraper across from UN headquarters is shaped like a tulip and includes traditional Turkish architectural elements.

The center houses the UN permanent mission of Türkiye, the Turkish Consulate General, and the representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

President Erdoğan held most of the bilateral meetings with the world leaders at the center. ​​​
