Dunya - Türkiye’s Mediterranean port city of Mersin is to take its exports to new levels with the addition of a new Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) specializing in logistics. Representatives of the logistics sector are keenly waiting for the Ministry of Industry and Trade to start the land allocation process for the OIZ, which is expected to strengthen Mersin’s status as a key location for industry and trade.
Türkiye’s Transport and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim’s backing for the project with a railway connection signifies the importance attached to Mersin’s newest OIZ.
More than 100 domestic and foreign companies are awaiting land allocation for the project, which is expected to employ 10,000 people once completed.
