Hurriyet Daily News - Three Turkish companies, Arcelik, Vestel and Anadolu Efes, are listed among the world’s top 250 consumer products companies. The companies were listed in the “Global Powers of the Consumer Products Industry 2010” annual survey by Deloitte, a major international accounting and consulting firm. The list includes only publicly traded companies.
Arcelik, Türkiye's biggest manufacturer of household appliances, entered the list at 136, while Vestel, Türkiye's largest television manufacturer, ranked 195th. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes, Türkiye's largest brewer, ranked 245th in the survey, which was compiled using publicly available data for the companies’ 2008 fiscal year. Anadolu Efes also ranked 30th on a list of 50 companies displaying the fastest growth.
The 250 companies, which had a turnover of USD 3 trillion in 2007, have increased that figure to USD 3.2 trillion, according to the report. Arcelik’s 2008 sales rose 2.3 percent to USD 5.27 billion compared to a year earlier. Vestel increased its sales by 1.4 percent to USD 3.64 billion, while Anadolu Efes’s 2008 sales rose 21.1 percent to USD 2.85 billion compared to a year earlier. These three companies are also included among the top four fastest-growing companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
