Invest News DetailMilliyet - South Korean automotive producer Hyundai’s plans to double its production capacity in Türkiye near completion, according to Hyundai-Assan General Manager Umit Karaaslan. Karaaslan has spoken to the press on the sidelines of the Izmir Autoshow Fair, stating that the South Korean company is in the process of selecting the vehicle models for production in Türkiye. Hyundai is about to reach its 50,000 car sales goal this year, taking up the 4th or 5th place in the Turkish auto market, said Karaaslan. Hyundai’s plant in Kocaeli is the company’s first overseas plant, he noted, drawing attention to the strong historical and commercial ties between Türkiye and South Korea. “Hyundai’s decision process for the Türkiye investment is in its final stage and works on model selection are about to be completed. The company’s Kocaeli plant, employing a highly trained workforce, stands out from Hyundai plants around the world for its outstanding production quality,” said the general manager. “The level of quality attained in Hyundai’s Turkish plant is sure to bring more investments in,” he added. A total of 800,000 cars are expected to be sold in the Turkish market this year.
