Beating the expectations, Türkiye's economy grew 7.3 percent annually in the first quarter of 2022, marking the country one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
The data unveiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) demonstrated the Turkish economy's robust recovery continued at full speed in 2022, with net exports, household consumption and investments contributing positively to GDP growth, with the exception of stocks. The value-added increased by 24.2 percent in finance and insurance sector, 16.8 percent in ICT activities, and 14.9 percent in services.
