The OECD's latest Composite Leading Indicators (CLI) revealed that the Turkish economy has one of the strongest economies among the 33 countries in the index.
As of March 2021, Türkiye is the fifth country with the strongest CLI indicator, scoring 101.77 points next only to Chile, Brazil, Estonia and China, the OECD CLI shows. Türkiye was in the list with a 76.63 indicator at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Composite Leading Indicators" is a system developed by OECD to provide early signals of turning points (peaks and troughs) between expansions and slowdowns of the economic activity.
The OECD compiles CLIs for 23 member countries and for 10 non-member countries including Russia, India and China.
