President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the inauguration ceremony of one thermic and three geothermal facilities in Manisa on January 16.
Addressing the audience via videoconference, President Erdoğan stressed the importance of renewable energy investments, saying that Türkiye is among the world's top four countries in terms of geothermal energy.
"These investments in thermal and geothermal energy will make a significant contribution to our country's energy supply," President Erdoğan said. “We aim to be a hub not only in energy industry but also in renewable energy technologies," pledged President Erdoğan.
The facilities in Manisa were realized with an investment of USD 1.37 billion.
President Erdoğan stated Türkiye's geothermal power generation reached 1,613 MW in 2021, up from 18 MW in 2002.
