President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official one-day working visit to Qatar on July 2, being the first overseas visit since the outbreak of COVID-19.
During the trip, President Erdoğan held a series of meetings with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar at the Pearl Palace. According to the statement released by Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications, regional and international issues were evaluated by the two friendly and brotherly countries during these meetings. The two leaders exchanged views on how the relations between Türkiye and Qatar could further be developed and agreed on working together during and after the novel coronavirus pandemic to protect the economies of both countries.
Prior to the visit, Investment Office Country Advisor to Gulf countries Mr. Mustafa Göksu has been appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the State of Qatar.
