On June 7, Investment Office and AmCham Türkiye successfully held the third edition of GVC Talks on "Regional Trade: Green Deal“ with the participation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Investment Office Vice President Ahmet İhsan Erdem and AmCham Türkiye Board Member Haluk Yalçın.
One of the major aspects of global value chain transformation, the sustainability imperative, which has an influence on investments and regional trade links, has been discussed during the webinar.
“Thanks to investments and support policies such as YEKA and YEKDEM mechanisms, today more than half of Türkiye's installed power capacity comes from renewables. In particular, the installed capacities have increased to almost 10 gigawatts in wind power and 7 gigawatts in solar power. A decade ago, Türkiye has no installed capacity in these areas," Investment Office Vice President Erdem said during his speech and added “Türkiye is committed to further increasing the installed capacities in renewables."
