Dunya - The Eastern Mediterranean Petrochemicals Refining and Industry and Trade Inc. (DAPRAS) of Calik Enerji, a subsidiary of the Calik Group, has signed a management consultancy services contract with the US-based Shaw Group for its Eastern Mediterranean Refinery Project, which is currently under construction in Türkiye’s southern province of Adana. The refinery will process up to 212,000 barrels of crude oil per day, flowing from a variety of sources in Russia, Iraq and the Caspian region, according to Calik Enerji’s General Manager Saim Dinc. “The construction stage of the Eastern Mediterranean Refinery Project will employ some 7,000 people and create 1,500 jobs once it goes operational”, said Dinc. The refinery is scheduled to begin production in 2014.
