AA - The German State of Bavaria is getting ready to open an agency in Istanbul to promote relations. The German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced that the office will open on January 1, but that the official inauguration will take place during Bavarian Economy Minister Martin Zeil's trip to Türkiye on March 17-19.
In the statement, Zeil said that they hope to promote bilateral relations, particularly in the area of commerce. He said foreign offices are a good instrument for promoting foreign trade. Marc Landau, the Secretary General of the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be the official representative.
The office will offer bilateral trade opportunities for companies operating in the areas of renewable energy and environmental technology, machinery and equipment, information technology, telecommunications and infrastructure projects. The current trade volume between Türkiye and the State of Bavaria is estimated to be EUR 4 billion.
