Referans - Türkiye will soon begin an agricultural leasing program aiming to utilize the country’s vast arable lands, according to Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT). “Foreign investors will be able to use farming areas for a period of 25-30 years”, said Korkmaz, adding that the program is in its final stages of preparation. Underlining that investors will be able to lease the land for a certain period, including areas needing improvement, Korkmaz noted that the areas will remain under state ownership.
“We are in talks with three international investment funds concerning this issue”, said Korkmaz, highlighting the country’s huge potential in agriculture and food industries. ISPAT President also mentioned that the projects tailored for Brazil, Chile, Argentina, China and the Gulf countries are in the works and that they are currently maintaining contact with 1,500 potential investors.
