Yeni Safak – Türkiye’s Mediterranean province of Adana will receive USD 15 billion of investments thanks to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline turning Adana into an energy hub in the region.
Adana Governor Ilhan Atis said that Adana is the 4th largest city in Türkiye in terms of population and added, “Adana is one of the most important industrial and agricultural centers in Türkiye.”
Atis emphasized that energy investments in Adana are on the rise with the commissioning of the BTC pipeline and USD 2.6 million worth of energy investments have already been made. “These investments will rise to USD 14 million in five years. However this figure only covers dams, hydroelectric and thermal power plants.” said Atis, adding that when other investments like hotels, refineries and factories worth hundreds of millions of dollars are also taken into consideration, the total investments that the province will receive amount to USD 15 billion. Governor Atis said that many investors, particularly from Italy, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, were interested in investing in Adana.
