Mercedes-Benz to invest USD 200 million in Türkiye

Star - Mercedes-Benz, the German producer of motor vehicles including passenger cars, trucks and buses, announced plans to invest USD 200 million in Türkiye.

Visited by executives from the company’s Turkish division, Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Trade Nihat Ergun said that Mercedes-Benz will invest USD 200 million in its production facilities in Aksaray and Istanbul. Ergun noted Türkiye’s key position as the leading producer of trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles in the region and asked Mercedes officials to consider the production of passenger vehicles in the country.

Wolf-Dieter Kurz, Chairman of Mercedes-Benz Turk, said that Türkiye is an excellent location to invest and do business in. “In addition to its status as a strong market, we also see Türkiye as a gateway to other markets,” said Kurz, adding that their operations are going as planned and sales have reached pre-crisis levels.

“Mercedes-Benz Turk will invest USD 200 million in Türkiye over the next 2-3 years. Türkiye is not only our production base, but is also a research and development center,” added Kurz.
