The Japan Times - Toshiba Medical Systems Corp. said on Monday that it would acquire a 70 percent stake in a Turkish sales agent for the Japanese firm’s medical diagnostic imaging systems to directly manage health care products in the rapidly growing country.
Istanbul-based TMST Tibbi Sistemler Pazarlama Ticaret ve Servis A.S. will start operations as the Toshiba Corp. group firm’s subsidiary in March, Toshiba Medical said. It declined to disclose the cost of the acquisition.
Toshiba Medical, based in Tochigi Prefecture in Japan, said it would aim to double its share in the Turkish diagnostic imaging equipment market to 20 percent in five years following the acquisition.
