Invest News DetailTurk.net - D-8, a group of developing countries with large Muslim populations, is willing to work together with Türkiye on renewable energy and also to import boron, said the Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz on Wednesday. Following his meeting with Dipo Alam, Secretary-General of D-8, Yildiz said they focused on energy and that D-8 countries demanded boron from Türkiye, one of world's largest boron producers. He added that Türkiye could also export some other minerals to these countries. Yildiz noted that some D-8 countries, such as Malaysia and Indonesia, want Türkiye to invest in renewable energy projects. Yildiz also stated that the Turkish government will encourage Turkish companies to invest in these countries. D-8 consists of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Türkiye. The group was established following an announcement in Istanbul, Türkiye on June 15, 1997. Türkiye's trade volume with D-8 countries rose 27 percent to USD 18 billion in 2008.
