Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the investment agency of Sharjah Emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the Gulf nation.
The MoU between ISPAT and Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) aims to promote investment opportunities available in their respective countries in order to encourage bilateral investments. Signed by ISPAT President Ilker Ayci and Shurooq Chairperson Shaikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, in the presence of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the agreement forms the basis of stronger business ties between Sharjah Emirate and Türkiye.
Trade between Türkiye and the UAE reached USD 5 billion in 2011 and is expected to reach USD 10 billion by 2015.
