Invest News DetailHurriyet - Türk Hava Yolları (THY) Teknik A.Ş. will construct an aircraft maintenance center in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport at a total investment cost of USD 600 million. The first phase of the center will be commissioned by the year-end, while it will start working at full capacity from 2012 onwards. The company aims to grab a share worth at least USD 8 billion from the global aircraft maintenance market, which will reach USD 65 billion in value in 2019. According to Ismail Demir, Technical General Manager of THY, the project, also known as HABOM (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center), will serve airline companies in Türkiye and in the region, as well as THY, while they will commission the Turkish Motor Center, worth USD 100 million, with global aircraft engine giant Pratt&Whitney (P&W) in December.
