Sabah – 38 Turkish construction companies have made it to the ‘Top 225 International Contractors’ list of the sector magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR). The annual listing takes a construction company’s operations outside its home country and ranks companies by their revenue.
“Turkish constructors are the second most populous in ENR’s list of 225 companies. Their combined income in 2012 reached USD 16.8 billion.”, Türkiye’s Minister of Economy, Zafer Caglayan, said in a written statement. Congratulating Turkish contractors for their accomplishments abroad, Caglayan said that the level of success was achieved with the intense efforts of Türkiye’s Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Turkish companies’ project revenues increased by 2.5 percent over 2011, despite the political upheaval going on in North Africa, Caglayan remarked. On the other hand, revenues from projects undertaken in the Middle East increased by 9 percent, the Minister added.
