Aksam – Türkiye, the rising star of global tourism, expects an influx of at least 42 million foreign visitors this year, earning USD 36 billion.
“While the economic uncertainty in Europe continues and turmoil in the Middle East rages on, Türkiye’s tourism has already grown by 3 percent,” according to the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) Chairman Basaran Ulusoy.
Speaking to the press about the outlook for Türkiye’s industry without a chimney, Ulusoy said that winter tourism in the country was gaining prominence, as it guarantees an all-year attraction in regions such as Erzurum, where Erciyes Ski Center is located.
Türkiye is the 6th most popular holiday destination in the world, with 36.8 million foreign visitors in 2014. Last year the TripAdvisor travel website picked Türkiye’s Istanbul as its top travel destination.
