Nissan, Daimler CEOs due to visit Türkiye in July

Sabah – The Turkish automotive industry’s remarkable growth rates in terms of output and sales numbers have brought the country to the attention of global auto makers seeking expansion. Two high level visits are due to take place next month: one by Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn, and the other by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz cars.

The visit by Renault-Nissan’s CEO will focus on the Japanese company’s possible investment in Türkiye. Encouraged by the success that the Alliance’s French partner has enjoyed in the Turkish market, Carlos Ghosn will visit Istanbul, Kocaeli and Hatay, the latter being the focus of a site survey for Nissan’s possible investment in Türkiye. Ghosn is also expected to hold talks with the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the investment project. Nissan’s French partner Renault has been manufacturing vehicles locally in Türkiye for over 40 years, and is currently the leader of the country’s growing car market.

Daimler Chairman Dieter Zetsche, on the other hand, will be in Türkiye for the 25th anniversary of the local division of the group, Mercedes-Benz Turk. Manufacturing trucks and buses at its two plants in Türkiye, the company is set to invest EUR 35 million this year, taking the total worth of its investments in Türkiye to EUR 670 million.
