Invest News DetailDunya – Following the announcement by the Turkish Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nihat Ergun, that both the Chinese automaker Chery and the French automaker Renault are planning investments in Türkiye, Peugeot has also issued signals that Türkiye is the strongest candidate for the company’s new investment. Chery has expressed an interest in investing in car manufacturing in Türkiye, an operation worth USD 500 million, while Renault has announced that its Bursa plant will produce electric-powered cars in the coming years. Another French carmaker, Peugeot, is likely to follow this trend, as Jean Marc Gales, PSA Group Brand Director and President of Peugeot, stated that, just like Hyundai and its new investment for its "i20" model, they can, if necessary, cooperate with the government in regard to subsidies and incentives, and added, “We will give the decision for manufacturing new Sedan within one year. Türkiye remains one of the strongest candidates.”
