Following the acquisition of Turkish climatization products company Airfel, Daikin will focus on developing and producing heating solutions in Türkiye for markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, according to Daikin Europe Head, Masatsugu Minaka. In one of the biggest acquisition deals made by the Japanese company, Daikin has paid USD 260 million for Airfel which produces air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems in Türkiye. Daikin will develop and manufacture heating systems in Türkiye for regional markets, saıd Daikin’s Türkiye CEO ,Hasan Onder in a press conference about the company’s future plans, who added that the acquisition has extended their target range to surrounding countries, in addition to the domestic market. The volume in Türkiye’s climatization products market has reached EUR 1 billion, said Onder with Daikin having a 12 percent share. The firm hopes to take its share up to 20 percent by 2015, in which forecasts estimate a market of EUR 1.85 billion in size.
