Invest News DetailReuters - EDF Energies Nouvelles said it had bought a 50 percent stake in Turkish wind energy company Polat Enerji. No financial details of the deal were disclosed. In partnership with another Turkish company, Polat Enerji owns two in-service windfarms with an installed capacity of 50 megawatts in total, with a further 80 megawatt facility under construction. It also has four projects in development representing over 200 megawatts of capacity, EDF Energies Nouvelles said in a statement. The deal will allow the French renewable energy company, 50 percent owned by EDF, to establish itself in the Turkish market, which had just below 500 megawatts of installed capacity at the end of 2008, but wind energy resources estimated at close to 20,000 megawatts, the statement said.
