Invest News DetailHurriyet Daily News - A new container-train connection between Istanbul’s Haydarpasa station and Islamabad, Pakistan, is likely to create new business opportunities throughout the region, said Kosta Sandalci, President of the International Freight Forwarders Association in Türkiye. The new rail service was commissioned on Thursday. The 6,400-kilometer-long journey, which crosses Iran, takes 14 days in each direction. “The new connection will attract the attention of companies in Afghanistan and Pakistan, especially those active in the construction sector”, said Sandalci, Vice President at Balnak Logistics Group. In addition to Afghanistan, noted Umut Hasan Demirkol, the Ocean-freight and Projects Manager at Balnak, Iraq and Georgia will also be major markets for Turkish construction companies in the future.
