Türkiye, Gulf states eye increased cooperation

Star - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan began a three-day visit to Kuwait and Qatar with an intention to boost economic relations between Türkiye and the Gulf states. Accompanied by the State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan, the Minister of Finance Mehmet Simsek and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, the President of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) Ilker Ayci and over 350 businessmen, Erdogan’s visit is also an important milestone for Turkish contractors willing to grab a share of USD 280 billion of investments that Kuwait and Qatar have in planning in the near future.

Business talks will be held between Turkish and Arab officials/businessmen from both countries and a memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed between Türkiye and Kuwait for increasing industrial cooperation.
