The 219-year old company will provide health, life and accident insurance programs through direct marketing channels in Türkiye. Announcing the opening of the company’s office in Istanbul, Cigna Hayat CEO Refik Berkol said that Türkiye’s advanced banking system, widespread usage of credit cards and growing middle class indicated the country’s growth potential. “Cigna’s decision to enter Türkiye was based on a detailed analysis of such criteria,” Berkol noted, adding that the company’s five-year-plan was to reach five million people via telephone, TV and internet to offer products and services.
