Yeni Safak – Türkiye’s export of automotive products has reached USD 1.7 billion in April, up 9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to figures released by Uludag Automotive Exporters' Association (OIB), the growth rate of auto exports almost doubled that of the country’s total exports last month, reaching 9 percent. Türkiye exported USD 11.8 billion worth of goods in April, with a 4.9 percent increase from a year earlier.
Türkiye shipped 10 percent more passenger vehicles in April while shipments of light/ heavy trucks rose by 13 percent. Shipments of autobus/minibus-type vehicles declined by 5 percent in the same period.
Major markets of Turkish-made automotive products in April ranked as Germany, France, Italy, Britain and the US, respectively. Türkiye’s auto industry exported a combined USD 6.9 billion in the first 4 months of the year.
A leading auto production hub, Türkiye exported USD 19 billion of automotive products last year. Global automakers including Ford, Renault, Fiat, Hyundai, Toyota, and Honda, have production operations in the country.
