Hürriyet – Türkiye’s exports climbed 3.6 percent to reach USD 11.8 billion in June over a year earlier, according to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data announced yesterday.
The country shipped USD 1.6 billion worth of automotive products abroad last month, followed by USD 1.5 billion of steel goods. Main recipients of Turkish exports in June line up as Germany, Iraq, Britain, Italy and France.
Exports in January-June period registered an increase of 11.2 percent year-on-year to reach USD 72.9 billion, while annual data showed the country’s exports hitting a new record in the last 12 months with USD 142 billion.
Reaching USD 500 billion of exports, along with having a USD 2 trillion GDP, is a key goal for Türkiye to reach by 2023, the country’s centennial.
