Globally regarded as an authoritative publication on the construction industry, the Engineering News-Record (ENR) published a list ranking the top 250 international contractors, nearly one-fifth of them are Turkish.
Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan disclosed that 44 Turkish contracting firms featured in the 2020 Top 250 International Contractors list compiled by ENR. Türkiye ranked 2nd in terms of overall representation on the list and 7th based on total revenues, Pekcan revealed.
Although the global construction sector has been hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak, having contracted by 3 percent in 2020, revenues of Türkiye-based contractors survived fairly unscathed.
Commenting on the challenges posed to the industry by COVID-19, Pekcan said: "This is proof of our contracting companies' resilience, dynamism and strength at difficult times."
