Turkish biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, along with industry associations and various state bodies, including ministries, are present for the third time at the premier event for the global biotech sector, the BIO International Convention, held this year in San Diego, California between 23-26 June.
Led by Türkiye’s Minister of Development, Cevdet Yilmaz, and coordinated by the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), Türkiye’s participation in the conference brings forth the investment and business opportunities in a rapidly growing pharmaceutical market, the 6th largest in Europe and 16th globally, to the attention of industry leaders.
Visitors to the Türkiye Pavilion at the convention will be presented with detailed information on the growth prospects of the country’s pharma and biotech sectors through panels and sessions.
Türkiye’s pharmaceutical industry, defined as a strategic sector in the country’s investment incentive scheme is forecast to hit a volume of USD 23 billion by 2023, up from today’s USD 8 billion. The country heavily incentivizes the local research, development and production of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products.
