Eyeing high-speed train projects in Türkiye, the company will allocate more funds to Türkiye for engineering, manufacturing and design, according to Alstom Transport’s Managing Director for Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Gianluca Erbacci. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the first tram line in Casablanca, Morocco, Erbacci said that Alstom Transport Türkiye office would be responsible for the company’s operations in the Middle East and Africa. “This selection means that Türkiye will receive more in terms of engineering, manufacturing and design investments. Istanbul office will be the regional headquarters of eight countries, as well as Türkiye, and the number of managed markets is set to increase in parallel with Alstom Tranport’s widening customer portfolio in the region,” he noted, adding that making Istanbul office a regional management hub would mean increased employment and greater contribution to Türkiye’s economy In addition to transportation industry, the Alstom Group is active in Türkiye’s energy projects and has a facility in Gebze, Kocaeli that manufactures grid power transformers.
