Hurriyet – Car maker Nissan steps up efforts for a possible manufacturing investment in Türkiye. First signaled in last year’s Paris Auto Show, the Japanese company’s production investment in Türkiye is seen as a key to success in the country’s growing automotive market.
Nissan’s investment in Türkiye is a must for growth in the domestic market, according to Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn, planning to visit Türkiye in early July with an agenda full of high level meetings in Istanbul, Bursa and Iskenderun-Hatay. Emboldened by its global partner Renault’s success in Türkiye and invited by Oyak, local partner of Renault, Ghosn is expected to survey sites for the investment and meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun.
“Nissan’s investment in Türkiye is likely to trigger more automotive companies to follow suit..”, Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun remarked about Nissan’s likely production in Türkiye, noting that the government will render any assistance necessary for the realization of the project.
