A delegation of high-ranking members of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has paid a visit to the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT) headquarters in Ankara as a part of their official visit to Türkiye to seek new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Led by the Deputy Director of Publicity and Strategies Division of the LDP of Japan, Yoshihiko Isozaki, the delegation held talks with ISPAT officials on investment opportunities offered to Japanese companies and ways of further improving Turkish-Japanese business relations. The Japanese delegation paid particular attention to Türkiye’s huge infrastructure projects including the 3rd bridge over the Istanbul Strait and the Izmit Bay Crossing.
Türkiye and Japan have formed close ties in business and trade in recent years with a large number of Japanese companies adding Türkiye to their overseas expansion plans. A Japanese led consortium will build Türkiye’s second nuclear power plant on the coast of Sinop in the Black Sea, according to a USD 22 billion agreement signed during the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Türkiye last May.
The 150+ Japanese companies operating in Türkiye include global names such as Toyota, Honda, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Rubber and Yusen Logistics.
