Haberturk Ekonomi - An area of land 5.5 million square meters in size in the Caycuma district of Türkiye’s northwestern province of Zonguldak will be nationalized to make room for the ambitious Filyos Project, which is slated to turn the western part of the Black Sea region into an industrial hub. Located on Zonguldak coast, the project, worth USD 10 billion, will create jobs for some 22,000 people, according to Zonguldak Governor Erdal Ata.
Filyos Valley remains at the center of many investment plans prepared both by the government and by private investors. The government-initiated projects for the region include a port, organized industrial zones, dams and power plants, while leading groups such as Kibar Holding, Torunlar and Enka are said to have investment plans for the region. Matching the scale of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP), the Filyos Project will house ports, dockyards, power plants and various facilities for industrial production.
