They are also interested in solar energy technology and are focused on Mersin for these investments. Stating that they strongly support these investments from China in Türkiye, Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye, said, "Mersin and Izmir fall within the scope of strategic observations by Chinese investors. Provided that they make production in Mediterranean basin, Chinese investors have the opportunity to export their products to Europe, North Africa and Middle East through logistic means, which attracts their attention to a great extent." Emphasizing that they, as Investment Support and Promotion Agency, are also after automobiles produced in line with the European standards, Korkmaz has stated that they have invited Chinese investors to Türkiye taking this point into account.
