ISPAT on second US roadshow

Sabah – As a strategically located, growing economy with half of its 76 million population under 30 years of age, Türkiye is firmly placed on top of the lists of global companies who are looking for new growth markets with strong trade ties to their surroundings.

The Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), on a tour in the US to bring the business and investment opportunities to the attention of US-based multinationals, has successfully concluded a series of meetings with prominent business organizations and media representatives in the country.

The second of the roadshows staged in the US by ISPAT, the event provided first-hand testimonials from representatives of US companies active in Türkiye to prospective investors in the US. Taking place in New York and Washington, the meetings between the ISPAT delegation led by President Ilker Ayci and US-based international investors and members of the press drew a complete picture of Türkiye’s economy as well as its investment and business environment, particularly from the point of view of US companies.

Also serving as the President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), Ayci said that the “National Team of Investment Promotion”, consisting of representatives of foreign companies active in Türkiye as well as ISPAT staff, would take part in routinely staged promotional activities abroad to present Türkiye’s investment opportunities.

Speaking of the latest developments, President Ayci said that the foreign direct investment (FDI) amount attracted by Türkiye in the first two months of 2014 went up by 28 percent from the same period last year. “There has been a marked increase of FDI inflow into Türkiye, reaching USD 5.4 billion between December 2013 and February 2014” he noted.

“The active investment promotion strategy adapted by ISPAT will take a new course in the 2014-2016 period. We will be staging one-on-one meetings with corporations and organizing international events in Türkiye”, Ayci remarked, stating that two such events were scheduled for next month. “A new campaign consisting of billboard ads touting the slogan “All Ways Türkiye” in and around international airports of 15 countries will soon kick off”, he added.
